Drakenstein Palliative Hospice was started in May 1991 by a group of volunteers in response to the need for compassionate professional clinical care and support to patients living with a life-threatening illness in the Drakenstein district.
We employ Palliative Care trained professional nurses and social workers, a part-time palliative doctor and supervised, trained home-based caregivers.
We provide a free care service to an average of 220 patients per month as well as a pre-negotiated paid home-care service.
