Delivering a free service to the public during the current financially pressurized time has become increasingly difficult as the area we work in is large (Drakenstein) and distances are far. Our fuel bill is minimum R30,000 per month and our cars are getting old and maintenance is extremely high.
Keeping patients with their families in their homes and providing quality of life is our aim. Help us help people to ensure that we may continue to provide this service and bring dignity and respect to our patients, and their family's lives.
We need financial support for salaries, fuel, maintenance, dressings and medical equipment for patients.
Our Hospice Shop at Rembrandt Mall serves to be a great outlet for donations of all kinds, turning unwanted goods into treasures for others and finances for us.
Together we can make a difference and your contribution is helping us to help others.

Butterfly House Resource Centre is situated in Fairyland and provides an Early Childhood Development and Aftercare Programme to about 300 children per month.
Butterfly House originated out of Drakenstein Palliative Hospice as a 'future hope' response to living in poverty, growing up with disadvantage, and in response to parents living with and dying from a life-threatening illness.
Creating a Hopeful Future for our very vulnerable children in the community

We welcome any home items: clothes, bric-a-brac, books, furniture, electrical appliances, pictures and paintings, curtains, bed linen, towels, pots and pans, cutlery…. Nothing too small or too big.
Consolidating our merchandise ensures a bigger selection and improved quality of the goods.
We are looking for volunteers to help with selling but also with sorting, pricing and souring items to sell. This is a big part of being sustainable and ‘doing’ instead of waiting for handouts. Be part of helping us help others.
You're also welcome to visit:
Every year we remember our families, friends and patients with sacred walk through the Arboretum in Paarl. It is the first Saturday after Mother’s Day in May (hospice month).
Buy a beautifully decorated butterfly, write the name of those persons who you keep close to your heart and hang the butterfly on our dediated tree.
Together we celebrate a life shared and a precious memory in our hearts… Creating a space to remember.
